Ethical Analytics

Visitor numbers,
without the creepy part.

One small script. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal data stored — and your visitors' Do Not Track choices actually honoured. Built in the UK, data hosted in the EU under GDPR, and your first two sites are free.

What you see

Pageviews, unique visitors, top pages, referrer domains, device and browser split, campaigns, custom events, and which pages people arrive on and leave from. Pick any date range — today, last week, a launch month, or the whole year. One plain page that loads instantly.

Every visitor number here is honest about what it is. Our "unique visitors" figure is the sum of each day's count, and we say so on the page, because the salt that anonymises visitors is destroyed every midnight and nobody can follow someone across days — including us. That is the trade we made, and hiding it behind a rounder-looking number would undo the point of the product.

What we never collect

The honest caveat every analytics vendor should print: whether your site needs a consent banner depends on everything your site does, not just analytics. This tool is engineered so that analytics gives you nothing to ask consent for — the design detail is in the docs and we show our workings.

<script src="https://ethical-analytics.com/ea.js"
  data-site="YOUR-KEY" data-endpoint="https://ethical-analytics.com/collect.php" defer></script>

~0.6 KB, no dependencies, never blocks your page, fails silently if anything's wrong (analytics should never break a site). Pixel fallback included for no-JS contexts.

Free, and honestly priced after that

A free account covers two sites — 60 days of history, every privacy feature (privacy is the product, not the paywall). Need more sites or deeper history? Go Pro: £5 a month or £40 a year per site ($6 or $48 if your account is in USD), and every site on your account gets CSV export, a read-only API, and history kept as long as you choose — one month to indefinite, three years if you never touch the dial. You can't actually buy Pro yet — there's no checkout, and until there is, the way to get it is to email us. No card required, no trial countdown, no sales calls; it's analytics, not a relationship.

Two different things get called "retention", so here is ours precisely: raw visitor-level rows are purged within 90 days on every plan — paying more never keeps identifiable-ish data around longer, because that promise belongs to your visitors, not to us. What Pro extends is the anonymous aggregate history: pure counts with nothing about any individual in them, which is exactly why depth can be a paid feature without anyone being sold out.
